Trip Overview

The Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek shares its initial trail with the renowned Everest Base Camp Trek and Kala Patthar until Pangboche (3930m). From Pangboche, it's merely a day's hike to reach Ama Dablam Base Camp, with the trail diverging either from Tyangboche Monastery or Phortse Village.

Along the trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp, you'll encounter charming Sherpa villages nestled within convenient reach from Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital. Eventually, you'll find yourself at the foot of Ama Dablam, one of the most splendid mountains in the region.

The name "Ama Dablam" translates to 'mother’s necklace', symbolizing the hanging glacier resembling a traditional Sherpa necklace ('Dablam') worn by Sherpa women. This trek route meanders through lovely forests to reach the renowned and sacred Tyangboche Monastery. While not as popular as the Everest Base Camp Trek, it offers its own unique charm and allure.

The Ama Dablam Trekking Package presents a captivating journey to the base camp of one of the world's most beautiful mountains. It provides breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtega, and, of course, the majestic Ama Dablam itself. Moreover, it offers an immersive experience into the Sherpa way of life, their rich culture, traditions, and religious practices.
